I'm really confused by this. They play perfectly in media center itself (on PC) and they start to play perfectly on the extender (i.e. play for a few minutes), but then they simply stop and the screen goes black. it's not an issue with the file itself (it seems), as I can restart the playback (well, switch to a different file, then switch back) and skip forward to a little bit behind where it died on me and it will play for a few minutes without a problem, then black again.
thoughts? I'm sure I'm not the only one to have faced this. I installed the shark codec pack, if there's a better one, I'm all ears?

going to guess it was a hardware problem. took pc apart, reseated everything, no more problems.
