WMC slow on Windows 8?

#1

Post by deihmos » Sun Dec 23, 2012 11:34 pm

Is it just me or is WMC slow on Windows 8? When I use my remote to launch live tv it takes a bit before it actually opens. That's not the case with Windows 7. There is always a delay when I launch the program. Anyone experienced this?

Initial launch is definitely slower, I'll assume its because its now an install rather than built into the os...
everything else is definitely quicker tho, particularly the music library.

I decided to return to windows 7. There are a couple other things that annoyed me like I have to hold down my remote button for live tv for it to launch and sometimes it does not launch. My screen refreshes a lot when I launch wmc and the desktop looks ugly in comparison to windows 7 aero glass.

Decided to try win 8 again and this time media center is super fast. Thee is no lag and it loads instantly. I guess they worked out the bugs with updates. The only problem I now have is dtbaddin does not work.

I did have the donated version. He updated it yesterday and now my problem is solved. Now hopefully Microsoft can fix some of my annoyances with the start screen.

He did an update to the previous version but did not change the release number. It broke skip back and forward but he has fixed it with the new build
