Video Card Upgrade: GT640

Two days ago I bought a new NVidia GeForce GT 640. And I couldn't be happier.

Make: EVGA
Model: 02G-P4-2643-KR
NewEgg Product Page

I used the following URL to help me decide which card to buy:
Futuremark's Hardware (GPU)

I also considered:
ZOTAC GT 640 (ZT-60201-10L)

The Zotac version like on NewEgg was not available from my Fry's Electronics (local) retail store. So I decided to go with the EVGA version because Fry's did have it. And because they matched the lowest price I could find on the internet. ($87) :) (Sorry NE!) But go ahead and get one online. Because the GT 640 ROCKS!

The GT630, GT620, and GT610 are not nearly as good the GT 640 for what they cost. NOTE: The GT 610 is really a re-branded GT 520.

My antiquated PC (2006) now has the resources to record 3 Shows and watch Live TV. Or Record 4 Shows and watch any Recording in progress or completed. w00t! :)

I bought the same card last year .. Works really well for me as well. It replaced a GT430. I have been very happy with both cards.

I went one level up in the main HTPC and got a GTX 650 to game with at 1080p. So far, so good. *Nvidia high-five*

P.S. As you mentioned, Nvidia has a habit of just rebranding cards; my only real gripe with them.
