I had been using Ceton's My Media Center previously without any issues and everything worked without a hitch, it was great. But my HDD died recently so I got to do the reinstallation dance.
When I run diagnostics I get confirmation that everything looks OK, I've verified that PC name, Internal IP, internal port, etc.. all match. I even found out that the time zone was initially set to pacific so I corrected it to Eastern but still no dice. When I try to connect I get the "Password incorrect, please long press on PC to edit. Unable to connect to PC, please check connection or PC settings.". I tried with and without a password. Just to do a reality check that the two devices really can talk to one another I even ran AirDroid and was able to successfully connect from the PC to the phone so I know they can talk..
Below is the scan from the My Media Center config app.
Code: Select all
Running tests
Microsoft Windows NT 6.2.9200.0
OS type: x64
checking to see if cdatasvc is running
Running, everything looks good here.

checking to see if valid settings on http://127.0.0.1:5832/
valid settings
Settings received from My Media Center v13.1.12.869 on MACHINUS
Communication tests success.
My machine is Windows 8 (x64) with all the updates Microsoft has put out. For giggles I even tried with the firewall disabled but still no joy.
My phone is a Verizon Galaxy Nexus with Android 4.1.1.
Any input that can be provided to help with this would really be appreciated.

It's OK to close this thread -- it boiled down to the timezone issue, but Windows took a few minutes (read: a reboot and 20 minutes) to suddenly mark the clock at 3 hours ahead.. so corrected the clock after adjusting the time zone and I'm in business. Thanks Ceton!
