Commercial Skipping

I have setup Dvrmstoolbox and showanalyzer for commercial skipping. I also setup Dvrmstoolbox/showanalyzer to start detecting commercials on live TV. I can see when a show starts recording that showanalyzer is scanning the show but if I start the show say 30 minutes into it commercials are not skipped? First question is should they be? Second is if they are what am I missing. If I watch the show after it is done recording it does work correctly and skip commercials. I have attached screen shots of my settings. Thanks.

Did you install the DTB addin?

Also, is the commercial XML file being created in the C:\Users\Public\DVRMSToolbox\CommercialXml folder?

Yes I installed the addin is installed commercial skipping works once the show is done recording. I will have to check if the XML is created when the show starts recording.

I checked and it is creating the XML file in C:\Users\Public\DvrmsToolbox\CommercialsXml while the show is recording.

Ok so I did a test recording and started it after a half hour of recording and it skipped correctly hmm, very strange.

Hmmm...Never seen this before where the file is written and skipping works after completion but not during.

Go to the MC Addin tab and check the box for Write Debug Log. You may have to restart the DTB service for the setting to take effect.

After that a log should be written to the C:\Users\Public\DvrmsToolbox folder. It's not the DTBFWService logs. It will be ehexthost logs.

Try recording and starting to watch a live show here and post the log here after commercial segments have been written.

One more question, I have tried setting up parental controls and I have noticed I have to press 0 before I can type the code in. Could the DTBAddin be causing that?

Ok, I think I know what is going on now. If I have parental controls setup I found that I have to press 0 to get the number pad to work. Once I press 0 the number pad works and I can enter the code but when I do that commercials are not skipped. If I remove parental controls and start the same show commercials are skipped. If i uncheck handle keys in the Dvrmstoolbox addin tab i can enter the parental control code without pressing 0 and the show skips but there is no way to disable the addin when it skips past part of the show and you have to skip back. So is there anyway to fix this?

The DTB has key handles on a bunch of the numbers. Try removing all the handles that point to numbers in the DTB Settings to see if you can enter a code without hitting 0 first.

Ok, I had a bunch of the buttons set to D0,D1,D2, etc I guess I didn't realize that it was mapping to the number pad. Changed them to F1-6 in Drvmstoolbox and did some quick testing and everything is working as expected. Thanks for all your help.
