BSOD when waking up following Vista upgrade

#1

I upgraded from VMC to 8MC this weekend. Mostly everthing seems to work, but it seems like every time it wakes from sleep, I get blue screen of death (well actual sad smiley face of death). It gets 0% through collecting data then hangs, I reboot and it crashes again but gets 100% through collecting before hanging again. Third time, system comes up.

Only one driver for (my 2nd tuner card had to be manually installed from its CD) every other driver was installed by the Windows 8 upgrade.
To try and fix the issue I updated to the latest video drivers for my Radeon 8450, and the latest version of my BIOS; no difference.

Have you tried taking that 2nd tuner out, and see if the problem persists?

I did a bit more googling and might have found the problem. It seems Expat Shield (a version of Hotspot Shield by AnchorFree) is not compatible with Windows 8. I was using it to get access to iPlayer but I guess I'll have to find another solution.

I need to test it a bit more, but so far, uninstalling it seems to have cured the problem
