Anyone using AMD E-450 with HD HomeRun Prime?
I'm looking for something fairly minimal that can handle watching live tv while recording 2 other programs. Will the AMD E-450 CPU/GPU cut it? Thanks

I've got the E-350 (which is slightly less powerful) with a Ceton and I can record all four streams and watch something at the same time with no problems at all. I think for just watching and recording, you should be fine.

I used an E-350 with infinitv for a while for a friend. Recording and everything was fine, however I found the UI of WMC and just performance of the PC itself not good enough. I ended up building an entire new PC for them. I found building something with Athlon II was much much better with a built on radeon 4250 on mobo.

I also have a couple E-350s that I use with InfiniTVs. Work fine, though I would consider an I3 for a main box.

I use one for a bedroom PC (i think it's the older E-350). It works great for everything except Netflix.

To get around this you should go in and adjust your max video quality. Seem my post here: http://revohtpc.com/2011/08/21/getting- ... your-revo/3rob3 wrote:I use one for a bedroom PC (i think it's the older E-350). It works great for everything except Netflix.
I got netflix playing perfect on a single core atom acer revo by adjusting it just 1 down.

Awesome, thanks for the tip! Too bad you can't do it on a "per device" basis though. I mainly watch on my main TV Media Center which is much more powerful.Motz wrote:To get around this you should go in and adjust your max video quality. Yeah I wish this was an option. Putting it down 1 notch though actually isn't too bad even on the main tv, it is worth trying out though.

You are not alone, good 'ole Athlon II is a pretty good processor especially when paired up with a trusted AMD 765 chipset.

Wow I must have low expectations . I'm quite happy with the E-350, especially considering how cheap I got it for. I do agree that it can be sluggish at times, but this is my first HTPC so I guess I don't know how good it can be!

My first HTPC was Intel Pentium 166 Mhz!
