Media Center Themer hiding strip

I have been using Media Center Themer and have been loving it. This issue I'm having has to do with hiding strips. In my xml I have it set to hide several strips such as extras, sports, video, movies. Normally it works well, but every now and then the hiding strips doesn't seem to work and everything is there. This can either happen upon startup or within the same session when you back out to the start page (all of this is an xbox extender). The strange thing is that the theme is still working, so its not like the whole MCT is being bypassed. Anyone else have an issue like this or know how to fix it? Thanks for the help.
