Only 1 Tuner Available...Odd Behavior

#1

Post by MikeCL1041 » Tue Jan 08, 2013 2:59 am

I've had this issue happen to me maybe 5-6 times and I can't seem to reproduce it.

I'll be watching a channel (say 808) on my PC, and then turn on my Xbox 360 in the bedroom and tune into another channel (say 846). As soon as I do the PC will also tune into 846. If I change the channel on my PC back to 808 it pops up the window to select what tuner to use (acting like there's only 1 available) and if I select the one tuner my Xbox will also tune over to 808. It's basically acting like I only have 1 tuner. This also happens if I go back to my Xbox and tune back to 846.

Where it gets really odd is that I can change the channel on both the PC and Xbox to any channel besides 808 or 846 without any trouble, but I cannot have 808 and 846 tuned in at the same time. It's like those two channels can only be tuned in on the one tuner while any other station can use the remaining three.

I hope I explained that well....it's kinda hard to describe.

I'm running just one InfiniTV 4 pcie, and have the latest firmware installed. The few times this has happened it's been on different stations, and I can't seem to replicate it.

Thanks!

What are your temperatures on the Infinitv? I had weird issues with missing tuners until I added some additional airflow to the card.

Try updating your device to the latest BETA Software and Stable Firmware here: http://cetoncorp.com/infinitv_support/b ... er-update/
I have been on the latest BETA Driver package and BETA Firmware for some time with pretty much no issues. Once you install the latest BETA Software package you have the option to use the latest Stable or BETA firmware updates. Start with the Stable versions and see if that resolves your issue.
You will want to clear your tuner configuration in the Ceton Diagnostic utility and rediscover the tuners after updating the Driver and Firmware, Then open MC and run through TV Tuner Setup again.
NOTE that there is a Software/driver package for both Win 8 and Win 7 here make sure you grab the correct version for your OS.
