This is slightly off topic since it only happens on my main HTPC and not something that is an issue on extenders, but for some reason I don't have a "Guide" icon (or a "Record" icon for that matter) in the icons in the bottom right corner. The volume buttons are there, but the following are not:
- Channel up/down
- Record
- Guide
This has just recently started happening. Anyone know what's causing this?

Is media center in window mode?
Might double check and make sure it is full screen.
