Critique my build
I am getting a bonus from work and I want to build a MC box, critique my build.
Going to record OTA HD via a HDHR 2 tuner, eventually when I move I will be moving to cable and a HDHR prime but until then, just Netflix, amazon prime streaming. I will be using 1 extender in another room (Xbox 360). Thank you.
Intel core i3 3220T CPU $127
Asus Mini ITX H77i motherboard $99
Kingston Hyper X PC1600 8GB Ram (2x4gb) $38
WD Green 2TB $99
Cooler Master Mini ITX case $49
Rosewill Capstone 450 watt PSU $59
Windows 8 Pro 64 bit OEM $119
Total $590 not including the tuner which I see is going for $77 on amazon.

Okay add intel 60gb for $80
Subtract $30 for Windows 7>8 swap.
I keep debating 3225 vs 3220T. I like the thought of 35 watt TDP vs 55 TDP, besides the 4000 graphics vs 2500 and $10.00 more in price any reason why I would absolutely regret not getting the 3225? Also keep in mind all of my gaming occurs on Xbox.

Okay for what I want to do will the Pentium g680 be okay?
I'm really thinking the Core i3 is overkill for a HTPC.
New Build:
Pentium Dual Core g680 $67
ASROCK H77M $69
8GB RAM $40
Micro ATX Case w/350 PSU $47
ADATA 60GB SSD $69
Win 7 $92
2TB WD Green $99
$488
Just bought the HDHR and a new Antenna so that's taken care of just need the HTPC.

I don't know if the GPU on the G680 is HDCP compliant. If it is, then it should be fine for what you want to do.

I think you should probably stick to the i3. Either one you mentioned should be fine. 35 watts looks very appealing.

If all you're doing is recording and streaming the Pentium is fine, and yes it is HDCP compliant. The IGP on the Pentiums are identical to the i3s and they're actually pretty solid CPUs.
If you're expecting to do anything like gaming, you'll want to go with the i3 HD 4000 or a dedicated card.
The benefits of the Pentium would obviously be power and heat over the 3225. Ivy Bridge CPUs run scorching hot.
