Hybrid vs. hibernation sleep

#1

Post by ahwman » Tue Dec 25, 2012 4:07 pm

I've been having issues with my InfiniTV PCI tuner/tuning adapter after resuming from hybrid sleep. A warm reboot solves both issues. That said, I'm wondering if using hibernation instead of hybrid sleep might solve these issues since the computer actually powers down completely in hibernation vs. remaining in a low power state in hybrid sleep. I realize that this would increase the load time which to me is a fair trade off if it will sove these issues. Is my thinking flawed?

Hmmm, good question. If you get a chance, give it a try and let us know how it goes. That makes several posts now where people (including myself) are having either TA problems or tuner card problems (or a combination of both) when the computer wakes up from sleep mode. I wonder if this is possibly a bug introduced since we have switched to the beta firmware for the tuner card?

I'm not at home right now to test this myself, so I would be interested in your results.

So far so good. I've scheduled several recordings on an SDV channel spaced apart to cause multiple sleep/resume cycles. I'll report back in a few days... Fingers crossed.
