Media Center does not recognize my Hauppauge 950Q tuner

I have the USB 950Q tuner and it is not working after upgrade.

I have downloaded the drivers, and it worked perfect before the upgrade on win 7 MC.

The device is showing fine under devices but win 8 MC can not recognize any tuners installed.

any ideas or help?

The Hauppauge 950Q tuner is not supported on Windows 8. The Hauppauge 950Q is not listed as compatible on the Hauppauge website, but is listed as compatible on the Microsoft site. However, the 850 tuner is supported in Windows 8.

According to Microsoft, the 950Q is compatible with W8.

Plus the 850 lacks a QAM tuner.

The windows 8 does recognize it. But media center does not. Not sure who to call hauppauge or Microsoft. This is what I mainly used this computer for and now it's useless for a week.

I tried there uk download and install with no luck. The u.s. server is down from superstorm sandy. I hope the correct driver is in that download package.
