Applying for a WMC 8 Key

Can I install W8 on my laptop, apply for WMC key and once I receive it then install W8 on my Media Center PC, download WMC plug in and use the key for the Media Center PC instead?

Basically want to install W8 on my Media PC but want to avoid the possible downtime of waiting for the email from MS with the key which apparently can take a day or two.

You do not have to install W8 to apply for a WMC key. You can do so here:

Cool thanks just applied. Btw if everyone is moaning about the delay in MS sending the key why doesn't everyone just apply in advance in advance of installing?

Just got mine, took 2 days, applied in advance

I applied for one on Friday evening, got it about noon on Saturday, and applied for one on Saturday morning, and got it about an hour ago.

Most people are used to keys being mailed within short time periods of usually a few minutes is possibly why.

Got mine as well ..it took a couple days but they did get me the key.., It seems the turn around time takes a bit, but with 4 Million Win. 8 upgrades so far .. I guess I can see why.
