Screen Saver Issue
I noticed one of the fixes in the new services was "Screen Saver Issues". What exactly was the issue? My picture screensaver hasn't worked for awhile. Is this why?

Correct we detected some issues with the picture screensaver and also dimming on extenders. We have had users on TGB testing out several different fixes for a while and this latest build should have everything fixed up.

Meoge so you do NOT have any issues with the screen dimming on Xbox? Are you on
official build number: 12.10.20.660
I do have issues now on this build.

I just updated the other day and am now having issues where the screen will dim when I launch a recorded program, or play to extender from the guide. Before the latest services update the screen would not dim and it was good. I need the screen to not dim.

We will look into it again, would be interested if it was a regression...

I am not sure what you mean by regression, but I uninstalled and installed the previous version from the link you supplied and the screen no longer dims. I then upgraded to the current version and the screen dims when launching recorded tv from the app or launching tv channel from the guide.

Sorry I got all developer on your for a second. Regression is basically it worked in an early version and is now broken in a newer version.
So the latest version of the services had 2 key items in it:
1.) Added support for adjusting the pre/post padding time on individual scheduled recordings from the companion apps
2.) Added support for metadata on local movie files
So if you are not using those right now you can go with the older version and we will push out a beta update with a fix and post it.

Looks like you're already aware but wanted to post that I also ran into this issue - screen dimming (on xbox) after tuning a channel or movie from the Companion.

I originally had this issue when the companion app was first launched and reported on it back then. I had to uninstall the app because WAF was low due to issues at the time. I installed the latest from Ceton website this morning (iOS; all updates as of 12/16/12) and tuned to a channel and all looked well. Tuned to another channel a few hours later and the screen saver came on like it did before. Performance seems much better then before so I would like to keep the app installed this go round. Has this issue been confirmed again in the latest build and if not, is there something I can do besides disable the screen saver? We actually need the screen saver when TV or video is not playing so disabling the screen saver is not an option.
Thanks,
Greg

Greg,
Open up the companion services config, then under About switch it over to the Beta channel and you will see the beta update available. This has the fix for people having issues with the screensaver.
Let me know.

Win 7 64bit here as well. Haven't had a chance to login and download the beta yet but can also confirm this is happening on my extenders as well. The problem seems random though as the screen saver does no activate with every use. Just most of the time.
Thanks,
Greg

Hi guys...with those still experiencing the screensaver issue is there anyway I could get RDP access to your systems for an hour or so to do some debugging?
