By version he was likely referring to whether it was one of the initial units that were shipped out .... or one of the newer models....
There are physical differences between the two, and your answer that you purchased it in march says that your unit is the later model.

Thanks, that was correct about what I was asking. I thought I might be able to use it instead of my InfiniTV USB but I only have 1 slot and I need to put in a video card as my Dell displayport can't handle audio.
