Remote live TV options

#1

Post by rdy2go » Wed Aug 08, 2012 4:31 pm

Hey all,

So my brother moved to Boston (from Detroit) and is missing his Tiger games. I wanted to find a way to let him watch over the internet (live). Either from 7MC, directly from my (2) HDHR-3 and HDHR-CC, or an additional plugin that would go on my Win7 box.

Looks like Plex may have a way to do this.

Anyone have any experience with this? I could get a slingbox but I was hoping to prevent adding hardware.

Another limiting factor is my bandwidth, I only have a 16/2 cable line.

Thanks.

Just checked and I believe that only covers ESPN broadcasted games. The majority of Tigers games up here are on Fox Sports Detroit.

i would also use dvblink with connect server, i can watch any of my tv from home on ipad or in any web browser and there are no restrictions on international usage unlike the providers own apps. but for ease and a non EY user i would recommend a second hand slingbox off ebay. simplicity itself

Remote potato would also allow you to do this.

I believe remote potato only allows for scheduling and watching recorded TV, not live.

I'll give DVBLogic a shot. Thanks guys.
