#1

Post by milli260876 » Sat Jun 25, 2011 9:47 pm

i want to make a theme to use thru mediacenter studio. i can do the basic backgrounds fine, but what i'd really like to do is take the actual images and colour change them in GIMP/Photoshop.
Any ideas anyone???

Am I right in thinking the default backgrounds are not static(?)
I would love to know how to tweak these too :)

There is also a new MCE Theme tool here, I haven't tried it.

I made some themes for media center earlier this year, I also have some others I saved made by theWARM (Steve) Stored there as well as he has some nice looking themes. You will need media center studio to apply these. You can dl them for free from my SkyDrive here: https://skydrive.live.com/?wa=wsignin1. ... FD88%21294
They are in the public folder :)
Let me know what you think of them.

just downloaded the dark one, looks nice !
Ultimately i think i'll end up doing my own as the Gmail calendar plug-in doesn't have changeable text colour so the background etc has to oppose that !!! PITA

Any DLL editor, try googling, otherwise Media Centre Studio also works

Black media center theme FTW, not that it has anything to do with the topic.

Yeah sorry for hijacking your post .. I would try cw_Kids suggestion above. It looks like it might do what you want. On a side note I uploaded 2 more themes to my SkyDrive tonight. :)

Extract the images with a DLL editor, check the dimensions, replace with your own image, I do this all the time, even have an MCE theme as my desktop background
Extract from ehress.DLL in windows\ehome

I got the basic theme from steve (theWARM) and just changed the Main Pictures..steve would have the images he used to alter the rest of the theme. If you check the old GB/ new WE site for steve's tag (theWARM) he might have the image set you are looking for.
Sorry I couldn't help more..
