Hi all, I currently have a 3.5" (7200rpm 16mb cache) hard drive for Recorded TV. Is an equivalent spec'd 2.5" hard drive just as good?
Thinking about this - 750GB Western Digital WD7500BPKT Scorpio Black, 2.5",SATA 3Gb/s, 7200rpm, 16MB Cache, 4ms.
Maximum would be 4 HD streams but I've never actually done that apart from a test as I've only got 4 HD channels. So normally the max would be maybe record 2 HD and 1 SD while watching 1 SD.

You should be fine. There's not a HDD on the market that can't handle 4 simultaneous streams. Even the green drives are known to handle at least 8 streams.

I agree with Richard, and I'll add that 2.5" drives have lower latency (better) than 3.5" drives. You'll be fine.
