Problems adding a lineup
Gentlemen;
From Schedules Direct I have received a message indicating that it would be convenient to change a lineup.
I tried to do it, but I made many mistakes and it was a disaster. "WMC" did not work, and I had to restore my entire hard drive with a backup.
Please tell me the steps I have to follow in EPG 123 and EPG123 client, after adding the new lineup.
Thank you very much.
Pepe.

Open the configuration GUI. Click the [Lineup] button to add the new lineup and remove old lineup.
Take a look at the channels in the new lineup and verify all the stations you want to download are selected.
Click [Save & Execute] to build a new mxf with the new lineup and import into WMC.
Your WMC database will now have both the old and new lineups. You can open the client, to the right of the lineup pulldown combo box there will be a red 'X' to delete the selected lineup... select your old lineup and click the 'X' button.
You may have to re-match some lineup channels to your tuner channels. Use https://garyan2.github.io/map.html as a guide.

Is there a limit to the number of lineups the client will accept?
I added a lineup in the server config then did save and execute but it isn't getting imported into the client config.
I am obviously simplifying the above statement.
update: disregard all of the above - it appeared when the scheduled update ran.

Except that all the channels I mapped to it got deleted and I had to re-add them.
Why does this happen?

Did you configure the lineup to 'Discard Channel #'s' to force channel numbers to -1 for DVB-S?

It's got nothing to do with automatch except it will allow you to run automatch without issue. The important thing is that the channel numbers will always be -1 and therefore the channel IDs will always remain the same. If they never change, then they will remain mapped if the lineup channel numbers change.
Basically, if a station is mapped to a channel, it will remain so until the station is removed from the lineup.

Understood but why does EPG123 delete channels just because there are no listings for them?
I would prefer that it just removed mappings to listings that are no longer available and leave the channel.

EPG123 doesn't delete channels. It is actually happening when loadmxf.exe is importing the mxf file before epg123 does anything. I just have never found the root cause on why it does it, or a way to stop it from happening.

so what is it that epg123 says it is deleting here?
Is it just the mappings?
I have found the deleted channels can sometimes be undeleted in EPG123 and sometimes not. If not, I have to rescan to get them back.

You got me there. What you see in your log is after the damage is already done by the loadmxf import. If repairing doesn't work, then the only way I've found that there is an opportunity to recover the channel is to delete it so that it can then be undeleted. Otherwise, the merged channel is orphaned and scanning again will not bring it back. The only thing to do then in that case it to manually create (add) the channel back in.

You could be right about it being to do with the In Band Schedule Loader.
Unfortunately, I need to use that because there are no guide listings available from Schedules Direct for a lot of channels that I receive.
One final question for now: Is the 'discard channel numbers' option applied globally or per lineup?

Help.
EPG123 failed to download the latest listings this morning, so I ran the Config utility (from the tray) to discover my lineup was empty.
I tried a Rebuild but it didn't help.
Does anyone know what's going on and how to fix? TIA.
(Note: Dropdown is empty.)
(Client lineup appears to be fine after a Restore.)

Seems to be an issue with SchedulesDirect, many people were having this problem yesterday/today. My update also indicated that the lineup was empty when it ran around 7:30pm ET. I just re-ran it again and it appears to have been resolved.
So either "Save&Execute" or just wait for the normal update to occur.

Ah, you're right. My Lineup returned this morning and I was able to do a "Save & Execute" from the Config app.
I didn't know my "Lineup" is stored remotely. That seems like a bad idea.
Thx.
