Sudden issue with WMC - "Failed to create MXF file"

This issue started just last week and nothing on my computer has changed. WMC would remind me the guide needed to be updated, then fail to update. Here's the latest from the log file.

Download v1.7.3.4. This is related to IPv6 issues that appear limited to the northeast of the U.S.

I'm also having the same issue; FYI I'm in Golden, CO (i.e., not the northeast). Will try the latest beta update now (currently still running v1.7.0.10)

Not sure you are having the same issue. There are other errors you will receive by running an older version due to changes in security protocols with SD. I would have to see your log file to be sure.

Yeah, Gary, I'm still getting errors. Here's the log excerpt from the most recent guide update attempt (post-upgrade to the latest EPG123 beta...between this attempt and the prior one, which had also failed, I also did a Windows 7 reboot in case there was still cruft left over from the prior EPG123 version). Your updates are happening just fine, it is just the automatch routine is throwing an exception on one of the merged channels. Probably one of the channels from the below.

Open the client GUI and it will try to repair the merged channel and if unsuccessful delete it. It will be noted in the log file.

Yeah, I was about to write back and say "...but I see valid Program Guide data through Wednesday, 12/28, so...???..." I just launched the client app and after it as-usual churned away for a bit, it opened. I didn't see any messages pop up so I assume all's well. I'll let you know if the error recurs in conjunction with tomorrow morning's regular data update. Thanks again as always for all that you do!

In the log I see a VERY large number of entries of this form:

Probably not worth sending me the log file. If you open the client again, there should be no more entries like that. In the client, click the undelete button to rebuild all the channels that have been deleted.

Your example though is not what I expected. There is a primary channel and secondary channel assigned so not sure why that one needed a repair.

After much gnashing of teeth, some settings fiddling and a few program guide update iterations, I think I'm back to where I was before. My Windows Media Center Favorites got blown away for some unknown reason, but recreating them was no biggie. Thanks again for everything, Gary!

I'm guessing you did a [Client Setup] and wiped out your database? In that case, yes, your favorites get blown away. A simple rebuild database would have worked and taken only a seconds while keeping your favorites as well.
