Errors in the trace.log file

Gentlemen;

The EPG icon has had a red cross on it for the last three days.

The update of the TV programming does not take place.

I have noticed that there are errors in the trace.log file

I don't know how I can send the file

If I run the program EPG123 configuration it is completely empty.

You can copy the relevant log entries into a post for us to see.

In the configuration GUI, does it successfully login? If no, did you change your SD password or your SD membership is expired?

Hello;

In the configuration GUI you can see my name and some dots for the password. It has no expiration date and it is all in gray color as if it is not active.
If I click clear cache a message comes up saying that "the cache files have been deleted and will be restored in the next update".

My membership expires in January 1923.

Did you recently change the datetime format on your machine, or update epg123 to 1.7.1.x from 1.7.0.x?

It looks like you will need to delete a registry value to get epg123 to be able to login again.

Delete the registry value
HKLM\SOFTWARE\GaRyan2\epg123\"tokenExpires" and try again.

The registry key will always have an expiration date/time of 24 hours after the token was refreshed. So that is okay.

The format of the date and time should be "ddd, dd MMM yyyy HH:mm:ss GMT". Is that the case? When you open the configuration GUI, does it now login successfully?

That is the format that should be in the registry.

I've had some issues in the past with datetime formats and according to Microsoft, this format is universally accepted regardless of culture settings. I'm not sure why EPG123 no longer understands it for you. This is the same format used in all browser http headers.

Did you change any culture settings or datetime formats on your system when this problem started?

EDIT: Actually it looks like it would fail on Tuesday ("martedi" in Italian) not necessarily in March. Maybe it only fails if the first day of March is a Tuesday? Weird...

EDIT 2: I see that the OP is actually in Spanish not Italian, so probably some other word starts with "mar" and not "martedi".

EDIT 3: I forgot my 6th grade Spanish class, it must be "Martes" (Tuesday in Spanish).

Quick question...

Are those "Loading" ("Cargando") messages in the log (associated with the ImportMxfFile function) only logged if you are running the update in interactive mode and it is displaying the progress bar?

I don't recall ever seeing those logged before...

I ask because I sometimes monitor (tail) the log to see the progress of an update and it would be nice to see those even if I was not running it interactively.

Yes, that is the import progress. It is logged for interactive and non-interactive modes. This is not something I like to see in the log... useless info in my opinion. We are seeing it here because I capture the output stream and filter out any line that starts with "Loading... ". Obviously the filter doesn't work for other languages.

@pepeboro: Version 1.7.1.3 is released. This should eliminate the problem reading the date/time in the registry, hopefully for you and everyone else.

When I was designing "EPG123 Log Parser" I had some issues with international date formats. With feedback from user duncane I wrote a utility to pull that info from the user's system and then create a report.

It requires 3 steps after pointing it to the local trace.log file(s)...

1. Select a date from the calendar (or not)
2. Type in the corresponding year, day, and month as numeric values
3. Click the "OK" button

It's designed for the sole purpose of analyzing a user's system for their particular date information and how it interacts with the trace logs. Even so, it provides some detail that may be of use in these types of situations.
