Back when I purched my MB with HD4200 graphics (gigabyte) there were others with the same graphics chip that had issues passing.

I haven't yet read through it, it's only a few pages but it does go to show that there was varying results in 2009.
Apparently my advice to update the BIOS worked for at least one individual.

You hit it on the nail! I disable the Aero and the graphics score went from 3.2 to 3.5. Reran the DCA and it passed!richard1980 wrote:I read somewhere that one way to boost the score is to disable Aero. Perhaps it's worth a shot. Completely disable Aero (IIRC, this is done by changing the desktop theme to a non-Aero theme and then disabling the Desktop Window Manager service), re-run the WEI assessment, and then re-run the DCA.arvindkanda wrote:I also found on the web, some ways of cheating, to fudge the the assessment score. Not sure if it is a good idea.
thanks a lot for your help guys.

Glad you got it working. I don't know any other conclusion other than there is a threshold for each of the WEI scores. Also, AnandTech's table lists a 3.3, which you crossed. So maybe they are listing the threshold values.
Even though you were able to pass the DCA, I'd be interested to know how WMC performs both with Aero disabled and enabled.
