EPG123 install issue

#1

Post by gbnewbie » Sat Jan 04, 2020 2:36 pm

Hi,

I have a problem with installing epg123 to get guide data (and have subscribed to the Direct Schedule).

I am running windows 7 MCE, with the Ceton 4-tuner card on Verizon Fios.

When I ran epc123client and did "Step 1 clean install" and "Live TV Setup"/"Let me configure my TV Signal manually/Antenna/Digital Atenna ATSC", I saw an error when doing TV channel scan, I saw the 4 TV Tuners, but during "TV Channel Scan", "No channels were found".

If I clicked Next, I saw this message below: "You cannot watch TV until you add channels using Add Missing Channels in the Guide Settings".

I could run MCE, and configured the TV Signal manually, and it could detect the Cable card with 4 tuners, and I could watch Live TV.

Does anyone know why epg123 install could not detect any channels (I have run this several times)?

Thanks.

If you have a cable card tuner, then you need to choose Digital Cable, not ATSC during TV Setup.

Thanks Gary.. I was blindly following the instruction on the video.

I chose Cable and working fine now. Thanks again.

You're not the first. Maybe I should note that the video is just a demonstration of an OTA setup and your options and screens may be different.
