not seeing HR in device manager am seeing the huagpage

have dissabled firewall and macfee

if I remember correctly there was a part of this installation that asked for antenna or cable then I get to choose the channels not seeing this option now.
here's the message video card does not surport OpenGL shaders
silicon dust says windows 7 isn't surported in 4 days it's actuelly jan14 which is alot more than 4 days.apparently they've allready stopped surporting this tuner, is this tuner garbage for me?

I have an HDHomeRun and don’t have anything in device manager that I can tell has anything to do with SiliconDusr or HDHomeRun.
Have you downloaded the latest software of HDHomeRun from SiliconDusts website?
Does the video play in the HDHomeRun from there in Windows?

yes I down load this circled in red
I save then I run

if I remember correctly I had choose the antenna or cable then choose the channels I want just after the wizard

it was like install SW/wizard / choose the channels then /start w/ MCs TV setup

after the wizard I never saw the option to choose antenna and channels I went straight to MC TV setup this skipped step must be the conflict. Thanks

Not sure, It's been way too long since I setup SiliconDust in WMC, I just switched to plex and the device automatically picked it up. I would be curious if your devices (iphone/android) are able to download the hdhomerun app and browse channels, if nothing has changed they should, just would want to rule out any issues with the actual HDHomeRun.
There is a fourm on SiliconDust if you didn't know, might be worth hitting up there, as well as checking out the Troubleshooting guide here:
https://www.silicondust.com/support/troubleshooting/
https://forum.silicondust.com/forum/
Hope that something helps or that this thread gets enough posts that someone that might know is able to jump in and help you.

You dont have to scan for channels in the Hdhomerun install. WMC will work fine without it. Something else is causing the problem.

The scan is only used with Hdhomerun's own Quicktv software. Does that work?

I thought there is another step after the wizard w/ options to choose antenna or cable?

if I remember correctly I had choose the antenna or cable then choose the channels or citys zip code I want just after the wizard

it was like install SW/wizard / choose the channels then /start w/ MCs TV setup

after the wizard I never saw the option to choose antenna and channels I went straight to MC TV setup this skipped step must be the conflict.
are you saying there shouldn't be this extra step just after the wizard?

I don't think I've ever used the Quicktv software.
Thanks

Find the HDHomeRun folder installed in the Start menu.

You should find HDHomeRun setup where you can review and rerun the setup of the tuners, and HDHomerun (QuickTV was its old name), Silicondust's own TV program.

I attempted to logically remove the HR in the wizard then hope to reinstall
the removal process is in progress for over 20 minutes apparently it's a neverending to remove.

That means you need to run the HDHomeRun Setup program first.

Under the Windows Start menu, All Programs, HDHomeRun, click HDHomeRun Setup. That's where you will choose the Source Type (Digital Antenna or Cable) and run a channel scan under the Digital Antenna tab.

After the scan, see if that HDHomeRun apps works.

Maybe I’m missing something this is what I’m doing
Open my computer
Downloads
Double click the HR SW
Yes to change computer
Next to HR setup wizard
Repair remember I attempted the remove unsucsesfully

Heres the next error

The following applications are using files that need to be updated by this setup
HDHomerun WMC Service

I checked automaticalley close application and attempt to restart them after setup is complete OK
10 seconds later complete
Then back to MC for setup TV signal

Update I’ve now managed to install a second tuner so I’m good for tomorrows games yes I never watch live TV.

The second tuner was my haugpage 950 portable that I use w/ laptop on my cruiser boat for long weekends at the Gulf of Mexico, not the HR which I affection ally refer to as the turd of tuners.

I’m apprehensive to use this portable as a home tuner because this little sucker gets hot
Don’t think it will last long in a on a lot of the time tuner enviroment.

Now in fairness it took an exurbanite amount of time to install about 10 times more than uselle, acutely more time than I gave the HR turd so next time I have a lot of time to kill I may give the turd another try.

Short term plan I have decided to avoid the turd and purchase a second Huagpage 1800 ebay $17.99 + tax free shipping. This is advertised as new (I do understand it’s a older model however it works and easy to install) from a decent ebay seller.
I kindof wanted the huagpage quad but not for $99. +

I was assuming the slowness of the install was due to no updates on the clean OS sys. So I attempted to update the updates most where actually denied.

Anyway I’m now slumming w/ 2 tuners and the turd is collecting dust ironic for a silicon dust.STB

Did you ever respond to let us know if the HDHomeRun without going through WMC is able to tune channels?

If you don’t have windows updates I could definitely see that as a root issue with it not being seen by WMC.

There are some alternative locations to get updates as well as some known windows bugs that you could try searching for if you have a specific error to fix windows updates.
