WMC7 Guide Data suddedenly Reverted to ROVI

I have 4 TV's running WMC7 and I recently switched to your Guide system, all seemed fine, but I just noticed the other day that the TV in bedroom guide data was different than the rest of the TV's, looking at the About page on the settings section for Guide data, it reports ROVI in the information, looking at other TV's it reports , I am pretty sure this is a result of wife clicking something she shouldn't, but question now is how do I get it to use your guide again easily, I really don't want to go through the whole start clean again, it is time consuming, is there any way to fix this easily? and also is there a way to prevent this from occurring? seems like this all happened when I go bombarded with the Window Expiring warning for several days repeatedly every time I went in and out the guide, and the constant tray notified telling me it was expiring and offering to go to the useless webpage that has no benefit whatsoever.

I assume once we switch to your guide data that the windows download button should never be pushed again when it reports that guide data is out of date, but how to prevent it from showing up to begin with so it is not possible to accidently download the ROVI guide data, which seems that has happened to me.

It looks like someone did a TV Setup again and then accepted the Program Guide ToS which needed to be denied to keep Rovi out. Unfortunately, once it is in your database, it is impossible to get out and WMC will continue to download Rovi guide data. Only a Clean Start will get you back.

If, by chance, you clicked the [Backup] button in the client after you setup EPG123, then you can just [Restore] that and in seconds everything will be good. Otherwise, a Clean Start is the only true way.

If you dont have Rovi in your database, it is okay to click the download button... it just won't do anything. There is no Rovi lineup to download.

She doesn't even know how to run the setup, she wouldn't know where the buttons are for anything, she only knows how to turn TV on and flip channels 1 at a time, if the download guide popup in tray was clicked would it possibly have switched?

I didn't realize there was a backup, I know it did a autobackup during the client install, and I imaged the drive before switching, what about the lineups is there a way to save the lineups and then restore them after the reinstall if I have to do that, also I have a windows 10 computer that only has the server part and the client wmc7 computers get the mxf file from a shared folder on it every night, not sure if that helps at all.

how can u tell if ROVI is in the database, by the Guide about page like I attached? I have attached the screen shot of the about page and also pasted the log file if that might help.

There is no way it could have switched to Rovi by itself... it might have your zip code, but it has no idea what lineup you would possibly have selected. The only way it could know that is if TV Setup was run and the Program Guide ToS was accepted. Following the acceptance, WMC would then ask you to select the lineup you want to setup. I did run an experiment recently and found that you could accept the ToS, and even if you back up and then deny the Tos, WMC will still download all the lineups for your zip code but that wouldn't explain how your channels could have been mapped to Rovi instead of EPG123. My only explanation would be you accidentally accepted the ToS and got you a Rovi guide.

The [Backup] in the client backups everything except your recording history. Your tuner setups, custom call signs, custom channel numbers, guide mappings, favorite lineups, and recording requests are all preserved for later if you have an issue. The initial backup during the setup is backing up your Rovi setup in case you want to go back to it. I will note that the backups, except for the recording requests, are specific to that machine due to the tuners having unique IDs generated on install. I haven't done any code work to make the backups "transferable" to another machine.

<t>All my Tuners are Haupauge 2250 dual tuners, when I scan for channels it always comes up with a bunch of Scanned Channel Numbers that do not match my provider, the analog do auto match up to channel #99, but the QAM stuff never has, so if I want guide data for those channels I have to watch the channel, figure out what it really is then map the guide, haven't had to do it for a while, since switching to your system I documented the 1st one so the other 3 would take less time, my stuff has been running bullet proof for years, I am in the IT industry and have been building computers since the 90's, all my PC's have backup images for quick restore but never really had to use one, below is what I get that is saved as an Excel file now.<br/>

Yah, QAM is just too volatile for SD to try and provide mappings for everyone. I don't envy you on having to manually map them. At least the client will make that easier to do rather than inside WMC.
