Is there a way to increase the amount of recordings saved to be more than 499? I hate that older recordings of movies are getting deleted.

There's no fixed limits on number of recordings, I have way more than that. How much space is free on your record drive, are recording set to delete when space needed?

I have over 4TB of storage but it seems older recordings from 2012 are dropping off. I just changed it to keep "until I delete" . I"ll keep an eye on it. I guess since I looked at my recordings sorted and look at oldest it says 499 of 499..I looked this morning and it says 501 of 501 so I guess there is no limit. Than you Alan

You can set a limit to how much total storage is used for recordings. Take a look at that setting and make sure it is set to what you want.

Settings -> TV -> Recorder -> Recorder Storage -> Maximum TV Limit

Thank you Space, I think that may have been my problem, when I upgraded from 2.5tb drive to the 4 I didn't realize that the max tv limit stayed the same as the old drive even though the record on drive showed the full capacity of the new drive. Luckily old drive is still sitting untouched and I should be able to get back whatever may have gotten deleted.

You're welcome.

I have my default for all recordings set to "Until I delete" so that nothing gets deleted automatically. Shows that will not record due to lack of disk space are clearly marked in the "scheduled recordings" list (only upcoming recordings within the next 48 hours are marked). When I start seeing those markings, I migrate recordings from my main record drive to external drives to free up space so that I don't miss any future recordings.
