Xbox Ethernet died

I have an Xbox 360e and the Ethernet died. Is there a usb WIRED adapter that works? The thing is useless slow on wireless.

USB sounds like a good idea. I have never tried that though.

How about moving the WAP closer.

I tested right next to the WAP. It's a no go, for me anyway. I cannot find a USB adapter that works.

I would be very surprised if any USB ethernet adapter works. Since there are only 2 Microsoft branded external USB WiFi adapters that work AFAIK, and I think that's only because the very original Xbox had no built in wifi, and wifi standards evolved during 360 life.

Speaking of which, I too have generally had poor results when trying to use the built-in xbox 360 wifi. But I have had great wifi results when using either of the external USB wifi adapters.

try moving the wires a little. I was cleaning behind mine once and got the RRoD. after I moved the wires back and restarted everything was ok.

Your post inspired me to reopen an old wound. I have an old WVC54G Linksys webcam which is a perfect donor for a wifi antenna. The linksys antenna has an MS-156 style antenna connector so I was able to connect it directly to the CON1 jack on my xbox 360 internal wifi card.

The results are HORRIBLE. Wifi latency was unbelievable compared to the authentic external USB Xbox 360 wireless adatper that I normally use. I disconnected my new external antenna and my connection got even worse, so I am pretty sure that I was successfully "helping" the internal wifi with my added antenna, but it's always possible that my hacking degraded everything to begin with.

It works OK enough. It's only for the garage. Just need my antenna with a cable to come so it doesn't have to be parked in the window. Not willing to throw $ at it.
