If you have a key to sell, please hit me up - I'm annoyed that Microsoft pushed DRM on us and then dropped WMC.

WMC with DRM channels has been working since end of November 2015.SaintMaybe wrote:If you have a key to sell, please hit me up - I'm annoyed that Microsoft pushed DRM on us and then dropped WMC.
WindowsMediaCenter_6.3.9600.16384_x64_v11.7z (version 11) or WMC_6.3.9600.16384_x64_v12.7z (version 12)

Not sure why you would be annoyed. DRM in WMC has been there from Vista "TV pack" where you were REQUIRED to buy a OEM PC to get cablecard support (no 3rd party building option to use cablecard on Vista TV pack, YOU HAD TO BUY A PC WITH CABLECARD SUPPORT).SaintMaybe wrote:I'm annoyed that Microsoft pushed DRM on us and then dropped WMC.
DRM was added on Vista, they Expanded it on Windows 7 (at it's prime, with tons of extra features), now 5-8 years later, it was dropped. Maybe you got into it late but, there is no reason to be upset. It still works 95% when it was dropped, the ONLY thing that is lacking from it's prime to now, Internet TV does not work (sucked anyway) and Sports strip does not get any updates (would love to see this adressed).
Anyway about it, Grab the Windows 10 Media Center installer, Works perfect in 8.1(files were RIPPED from 8.1 WMC), works with DRM content (follow the directions) only flaw right now is extenders dont work but, they are looking like big progress to it.

To my knowledge DRM has been around since the beginning of WMC. My XP setup would record pay channel shows from my Dish tuner and DRM would prevent me from copying to another machine or burning to DVD. I lost quite a few movies when I switched to Win 7 about 8 months ago because of XP DRM. I almost brought out good old graphedit and muxed them free, but the movies really weren't worth the time.
