Anyone play around with 4K?
Just curious if anyone has tried 4K content through an extender. I'm not even sure if it's possible through a 360. I've tried searching and only found some info on on people with HTPC trying it out.

I run my WMC through a 4K tv, and run WMC at 2160p.... The Xbox 360 will only do up to 1080p. If you attempt to play back 4K content and it's in a codec that the 360 can use, it will down convert it to 1080p.soccer4270 wrote:Just curious if anyone has tried 4K content through an extender. No, the 360 is not capable of 4K.... Even the Xbox one is only running at 1080p, although it's said it is capable of 4K, the limits of it would be menus and minor games, No big AAA tiles will ever be played at 4K on the current hardware (on the PC you need 2-3 video high end video cards to get true 4K gaming with high level detail).

Thanks for the reply DavidinCT. What video card do you run to hit 2160p? Have you played any 4K content or just upconverted to 4K?

I have a GTX750 It does the job with HDMI 1.4a. If I was to do it again, I would be going to at least a GTX960 or higher, to get HDMI 2.0.soccer4270 wrote:Thanks for the reply DavidinCT. What video card do you run to hit 2160p? Have you played any 4K content or just upconverted to 4K?
If a 4K Blu-ray drive ever hits the PC, it WILL require at least HDMI 2.0, so you should be good with a 960 or higher
Something to keep in mind.
