Audio sync issue

Audio sync issue
Using windows 8.1
When I start wmc and go live the problem does not exist. However after a few minutes the audio gets out of sync.
If I go from full screen to windowed mode OR just change the channel it goes back in sync but then within a few minutes it's back to a slight audio delay.
I just noticed this maybe a few weeks ago and this is a server that doesn't get new installs or updates.
Any ideas on what might be causing this?

I was just looking around for Richard1980's audio sync fix.
Found Newfiend's comment on it.

Richards fix should work for you if you can find it or if someone remembers how to do it.

Still haven't found it, but the fix was for Win7.
It went something like..... Set WMC to 2.0 and Windows to 7.1

well, I decided to try something simple and so far it seems to be working.
I had ffdshow and an older version of shark on the system so I uninstalled both of those and then re-installed the latest shark advanced codecs.
For configuration on the 64bit config I just ticked the shark 'recommended' settings. It then asked if I were going to be using it for live tv etc and I answered yes.
That's it and all seems fine so far. If I see the problem return I'll report back.

Set WMC to 2.0 rather than dolby 5.1 or 7.1 or whatever .1 its set to.
Tasks-Settings-General-WindowMediaCenterSetup-Speakers
I'm on a 10 box right now.....Figure out how to change the os from 7.1 to 5.1 or vice versa

Try setting the resolution of the display device(s) to its native resolution.
This is often indicated with (Recommended) being displayed after the actual resolution display numbers.

ok, I just did crash's suggestion and went to 2.0 speakers and also changed my display from 1080P to 1920x1080
If it's fixed I'll come back and report. I'll also go back to 1080p if it is working and that will tell me the 2 speaker audio was the fix.
Thanks for the tips guys.

Seems to be better in that it takes longer to get out of sync but it still does it.
I only have to hit the skipback button and then skipforward and it's fixed so screw it, I'm going to live with it for now.

There was more to that fix than setting 2.0 in WMC. The fix was 3/4 of a page long. I think I read about it a couple years ago.eclas wrote:Seems to be better in that it takes longer to get out of sync but it still does it.

Here is one post that is a "bit" more detailed.
http://www.thegreenbutton.tv/forums/vie ... 496#p20496
Click on Richard, then search users posts, then search within these results, and type in Bitstreaming. He has written quite a lot on the subject. Your "Complete Fix" is in there somewhere.

only defender.
It really isn't too bad now. I've had the news on now for about 45 min and it's ok. If I just need to use skip once in a great while I'll live with it.
friggin' windows stuff. always an issue

Yeah, I'm working on the opposite problem in Emby WAN. Video is fine, sound lags progressively until its so far behind.....video stops.

ok, after checking things out for a while, at this time I know Bill Gates is a liberal but the only channel that has this sync issue is Fox news. go figure.
It's only live tv on fox news right now and skip back, skip forward gets it back so I'm living with it.
