BTW CW, could you direct me to the posts that got the Echo 1/2 working with 8? I would like to continue working towards getting it fully working.

I might not be the best person to ask as I only have indirect knowledge. Mdavej seems to be the source of most info. Maybe you need to pair then upgrade to 8.
