I'm posting here because it is now an official release: version 12:
the log says everything is fine:

Code: Select all

but in GUI I see this:

I'm not able to select/deselect channels; if I click save it tells me "nothing selected" even when I copy in an old cfg where channels are selected (checkmark is set)

You need to INCLUDE the lineup for download. Click the red balloon beside the lineup pull-down and include it. You will then be able to add stations to the download.

You evidently saved the configuration when the lineup was not available, which in turn will EXCLUDE it from downloads.

The new version, 1.7.0.12, coupled with re-including channels (the list must have been cleared due to the earlier bug), then selecting the channels I wanted to import, worked with no errors. REALLY APPRECIATE your fast response in handling bugs and providing excellent advice.

That was the missing piece of the puzzle. (I feel stupid for not thinking of changing it.)

View the log and you will see the warning. It will be during the creation of the mxf file and contain [WARNG] in the log entry.

The warning during the creation of the mxf file is above that in the log. The warning you posted is while epg123 is importing the mxf file into WMC.

The warning was still before what you posted but here is the source of the warning.

Code: Select all

[12/19/2021 4:01:39 PM] [WARNG] Your Schedules Direct account expires in 06 days 16 hours 51 minutes.
Your account expires in less than 7 days.

I was not sure what the "status" field was/is
I guess the status field [warng] is in the log file, not the mxf file otherwise i don't know where to look in the mxf file

Assuming that it's just warning of an expiration date.
I assume the database got updated though right

Your program runs so smoothly that I never have to look at it so I forget things

Thanks

I'll admit the message is not clear. Technically it is correct that a status in the mxf file itself shows there is a warning, but that status is placed there by epg123 when it is creating the file. There is no direct communication between the server component and the client to relay any issues, so the mxf file is used. The first step will always be to review the log file to find out what it is.

Updates will still run as usual, your updates are fine up until your membership actually expires. Then it will be an error since the update will fail.

[WARNG] The imported MXF file contained a WARNING in its status field, please check most recent "update execution" section of this log for specifics.

Or something like that. I know that the "update execution" (server) and the "client execution" (client) are separate programs, but they both log to the same log (and I'm unaware of any way to change that), so I don't think referencing "this log" is a problem.

EPG123 has nothing to do with the channels that are scanned into WMC. Do you have 2 channel 11.1's in your WMC guide?

Then you will need to scan it in, or add it manually in WMC. Take a look here (https://garyan2.github.io/addchannels.html) on how to do that. I'm not sure if your "good" 11.1 is VHF (11) or UHF (35).
