Are you trying to restore onto a fresh WMC? If so, you need to perform a TV Setup within WMC at least until it starts scanning channels in order to create the registry entries that EPG123 compares to.

For [Restore], you must be restoring onto a WMC that has the exact same tuners as when the backup was made. Have you removed the PCTV Stargate Tuner?

Could you send me the backup you were trying to restore to support@garyan.net? I'll see if the tuners in the backup are somehow tricking epg123 into thinking the tuners are somehow different than what is in the registry.

There is a way to bypass that check in this situation by holding the Ctrl key when you click the [Restore] button.

I got your backup, and I see that epg123 restore didn't see any of your tuners in the registry. So if you hadn't performed TV Setup prior to trying to do a restore, it will fail.

EPG123 will check the registry within HKLM\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Media Center\Service\Video\Tuners. Within the subkeys, each tuner will have a tuner name ("DevName") that epg123 compares to. Do your tuners have a name different from what the mxf file says? It needs to be exact.
