Windows Media Center 7 Automatic Download is on

Ok. (very, very) Long time user, but my WMC7/HDHomerun installation when sideways.

Am trying to run from a backup and everything is good, except that WMC7 is trying to do the automatic guide download (from Microsoft) thing again. I have tried to stop it by not agreeing to the download agreement, but the 'Setup TV Signal' process will not complete.

Is there a registry setting that I can use to turn the 'old' automatic download of WMC7 off?

Granted I am using a very old version of epg123 (1.3.3), if this capability is in a newer version so I do not have to go through guided tv setup please let me know.

Thanks

The only way to completely clear the MS guide from the database is to perform a clean start setup that will delete the database and start fresh. Which means you will have to run through TV Setup.

The other option, with no guarantee of success, is to open the client and for each MS lineup in the pulldown on the right, click the delete icon to the right of that (you may have to expand the pane to see the button). Uninstall WMC. Delete the c:\programdata\microsoft\ehome\packages folder. Reinstall WMC. Again, there is no guarantee of success doing this... just an educated guess.
