KB5015861 july security rollup deleted all EPG data

The media center error message was something like 'unable to download guide data' or similar

Just restored to the point just after july SSU update... now fixed.

Not an EPG123 thing just a PSA.

The same thing happened with Windows 8 in July (KB5015874).

In that case it was an update to ehtrace.dll which did it. Could well be the same root cause.
Given this is the second of these incidents this year, I don't think it is safe to leave automatic updates enabled any more.

From askwoody ""The issues with Windows Media Center introduced in the July cumulative update (KB5015861) have not been solved for Windows 7 in the CU for August (KB5016676). I presume that goes for Windows 8.1 too.
