The media center error message was something like 'unable to download guide data' or similar
Just restored to the point just after july SSU update... now fixed.
Not an EPG123 thing just a PSA.
KB5015861 july security rollup deleted all EPG data

The same thing happened with Windows 8 in July (KB5015874).

In that case it was an update to ehtrace.dll which did it. Could well be the same root cause.
Given this is the second of these incidents this year, I don't think it is safe to leave automatic updates enabled any more.
