Hi, thanks to EPG123 (and SchedulesDirect), I get beautiful poster artwork for my Plex LiveTV airings. However, there are a few airings that SchedulesDirect doesn't provide posters for (which is understandable).
Question 1: Is there a way to specify a default/generic poster image for all airings that don't have a poster available from SD?
Question 2:: Do either one of the below EPG123 settings make any difference to Plex clients? Or, are they meant for WMC only? I couldn't find any information on these two settings in the EPG123 user guide.
- Add status logo in channel guide (viewable by extenders)
- Create ModernMedia UI+ support file

A1: No, that option is not available. SD plans on rolling out an update to their API this week (hopefully) that will improve series/season/event images as well as station logos, so this ask may not be needed once that is done.
A2: Both are for WMC only. The rest of the options on the configuration tab affect both WMC and XMLTV.

Wow, thank you for the quick response! I'll keep my eye out for a possible EPG123 update on your downloads page.

It looks like SD will be taking down the servers for maintenance on 2021-06-12 @ 15:00 GMT and update the API at that time. Once it is back up with the updated API, I'll check it out and see if there is anything I need to change for the series artwork retrieval.

Thank you for the update. Hopefully, they don't break existing functionality in EPG123 with the new API.

Nothing should break. I tested out the release candidate earlier this week and everything looked good. If something goes wrong it will probably break for everyone and not just epg123.

Is v1.6.4.4 ready for their update or will there be an EPG123 version available after they update their API?

Certainly. All previous versions will work as well though anything before 1.6.3? will not be able to take advantage of season and sport event images. I'm only suggesting that I may release another version if I find that some series are not picking an image. I had removed the iconic images, which are just pictures with no text, from a viable option. I may have to add it back.

Just an update. Looks like rkulagow rescheduled the server maintenance to 2021-06-31 @ 03:00 GMT (2021-06-12 @ 10P CDT). So later tonight.

If you were born on 6-31 you would never age, unfortunately it's impossible to be born on 6-31...

Hi, I'm curious, what changes/enhancements were in the new API? I haven't upgraded EPG123 since the start of this forum thread. Is there anything that would help with the missing posters.. or a way to assign a generic/default poster image when an image is not available? Thank you for all your time.

SD hasn't released the changes to the API yet. epg123 version 1.6.5.0 added the "iconic" series images back in as a last resort image, but it will get you most of the way there of having images for all series. Once SD is comfortable releasing the updates, it will be better.

Thank you! I just upgraded to version 1.6.6.0. Is there anything I need to do in order for EPG123 to add "iconic" series images as a last resort image? Does this happen automatically? I couldn't find any settings related to this.
PS: After I upgraded to version 1.6.6.0, when I open epg123.exe... then Exit epg123.exe. If I don't make any changes at all, it still prompts me that there were changes made to my configuration; and, if I wish to save these configuration changes. Do I need to select "Yes" to that prompt even though I didn't make any changes? What did it change in my configuration?

It will do it automatically within a month, but if you want to see results now, you will have to clear the cache and run another update.

The prompt is for the current epg123 version compared with the version used when last you saved the configuration file. I thought that was a good idea a long time ago thinking I may need to set some parameters on an upgrade or add comments to the configuration file if needed. I took that annoyance out in 1.6.6.1.
