Thanks for responding, yes, I am sure it is the 64 bit, I tried both installers, neither worked. I also tried with WMC on and off and restarted the computer to see if that made a difference.
Thanks
Ian

I just tried the installer on a separate computer on my network and got the same message, something is definitely wrong with the installer.

Could you try redownloading the installer? I just tried it fresh myself from the x64 version and it installed fine.

Still doesnt work. If you guys cant help me, I would really like my money back... How do I go about that?
Maybe there is something in my registry that confuses MCL about what version of Windows 7 I am running, but I don't know how to fix stuff like that.
You are welcome to try and help me though. I would prefer to have it working!
Thanks
Ian

Hi,
I tried changing the number of rows in the guide (both the "guide" and the "mini-guide") and now Media Center hangs upon startup. It launches and runs for a few seconds (maybe 10,) then the "wait-circle" displays, and the system becomes unresponsive. I've tried resetting the numbers of rows back down to 7 and 2 for the guide and mini-guide respectively, but that hasn't fixed the situation.
For what it's worth, when I set the numbers to 10 and 4, then run WMC and look at the guide, I DO see 10 rows, so that's working. My issue is that afterward, it hangs. (Likewise, resetting the numbers to 7 and 2 do show 7 rows in the regular guide, but the hang up still occurs.)
I'm using MCL2.30.0.0 on a 64 bit Windows 7.
Thanks -

I suspect the spinning donut you are seeing is due to having an InfiniTV. This is a widespread issue and nobody seems to know why it happens. Temporarily uninstall the InfiniTV driver and see if the spinning donut goes away.

I just purchased and downloaded today (10/04/12). I am having the EXACT same problem. i Have tried 3 different computers. 2 running Win7 Ult 64, and 1 Win7 Home Premium 64 and it would not install any any of them. I have download 3 times and have tried everything from reinstalling to rebooting and resting my tuners everything I can think of but it seem to be the installer that is at fault. I would appreciate any help to solve the problem.Ian1223 wrote:Thanks for responding, yes, I am sure it is the 64 bit, I tried both installers, neither worked. I too have downloaded both 32 and 64-bit installers. Neither works. One fails immediately and says the version is wrong. The other seems to install and then says the version is wrong. Sorry I don't remember which is which. I have 64-bit Win7 and the paid version of MCL.

Has anyone got a full Freesat logo package? I'd be interested in that.

i have a full set of icons that i use for sky / freesat but to say they were contemporary or 100% accurate would be going too far. they do the job though. i find wikipedia to be a good source

I would assume that since you took them off Wikipedia, there shouldn't be a problem if you link back to it?bobbob wrote: i can, but do we need to worry about copyright at all? if not i'll just zip them stick them in my public dropbox and post the link here. otherwise i can email them to you or something
