tried the link, didn't work, still gave me this net rumtime error in the event viewer

Man, you don't like providing any detail up front, do you? :D What about the link didn't work?

Do you have any other .NET versions installed? My Win 7 install has been alive since mid-2009 & I only have v4.8 installed, so I obviously did some clean-up along the way. Something to consider.

oh, the link didn't work, also it was in deutsch and i don't speak that language or even understand deutsch.

got the updates, but it didn't work, maybe it is the fact that i am dual booting windows 7 on my windows 10 pc or something I dunno.

That would really depend on on how much overlap there is between the 2 OSs. If each OS is in its own partition & installed apps don't share program folders, that probably isn't it. Dunno either.
