I've been watching mine for a few weeks now :) But, it's nice to see it on Amazon.

does anyone know if it requires a separate power source or is power supplied via the usb connection?

I use the internal card at the moment... which leads to one more thought: it would be nice to see if they updated the components on the usb version, just to see if they reduced the thermal output.

The current USB version is virtual identical to current PCIe version, aside from the interface. In fact, if you look at the PCBs next to each other, they are largely laid out the same.
