Moving to fresh copy of Win 7 - Ceton Question

#1

Post by feerlessleadr » Wed Aug 03, 2011 8:50 pm

So I have a spare 250 gig drive that I am going to be using as my main OS drive replacing my current 75 gig drive.

Currently I have my Ceton installed and paired with my HTPC (with Cablevision). My question is, if I install a new hard drive with a fresh copy of Windows 7, am I going to be able to just load up 7mc in the new install, locate the tuners and be on my way or am I going to have to call Cablevision and have them re-pair my cablecards?

My wife would kill me if we have to go through that process again.

You do not have to re-pair the card. Pairing is only between the card and its tuner, not the OS. However, you will lose the ability to play any recordings that are copy-protected.

thanks so much for the quick reply. I don't have any recordings that are currently copy protected, so I should be good to go.

Thanks!
