Anyone Repairing Ceton Infinitv Coax?

After a long history of snotty, ignorant, USELESS "support" from Ceton, they've dropped support for the Infinitv 4 pci. Does anyone know where I can get my coax connector fixed?

Thanks!

It's the 4th of July, not April 1.

Are you trying to repair the connection on the card itself or is the cable pictured above damaged? If it's the cable the one pictured above would be a suitable replacement.

Not sure why you think he's pulling your leg here..?? Unless he misunderstood and you need the card "connection port" repaired.

The coax connection ON THE CARD. You know: the part that breaks when you look at it funny or a gust of wind damages it. The part that Ceton has fixed THOUSANDS of because it was so poorly designed.

THAT part.

This is easily repaired. You need a small rectangular piece of plastic, and an arbor press.

1. Carefully remove the Ceton card from the PC. Inspect for any other damage.
2. Place the card under the arbor press.
3. Get the plastic rectangle ready.
4. Put about 2 tons of pressure on the Ceton. Dispose of pieces accordingly.
5. Go to favorite online store and type in the numbers on the plastic rectangle.
6. Wait for Silicondust HDHomerun to arrive.
7. Install HDHomerun and forget about it.

But seriously, post a picture of the damage with as much detail as possible. I'm an EE with lots of experience repairing PC boards and if it looks fixable I'd do it for you no charge (except whatever shipping is).

What I'm thinking is trying to find some way to replace the press-in fitting with a full-size coax connector. Sadly, "EE" was my weakest subject at Navy Nuke Power School (prompting the creation of the hit tune "AC Circuits are a Pain, E-I-E-I-R").

My thought is to anchor it on the bracket (large or small) which holds it in place in the PC.

Whaddaya think? (And thanks for the advice about the Silicondust box!).

That could work. You could use a panel mount coax F-connector and hand-wire a short piece of 50 ohm coax from the connector to the board. I'm not sure if the dimensions and clearances would be easy, but in principle it should work.

I have the 1st gen infiniTV 4. It was pull out of a working system a long time ago. If you want it just pay the cost of shipping it.

I have no way to test the unit anymore. Because i only have a mini-it’s system but it has a video card in it. So It be AS IS. So your risk of wanting for free plus shipping.

Resurrecting an old thread.

It is possible to replace the connector on the card.

I did it a few years ago. Just takes a soldering iron.
