ETH Power Supply

#1

Post by mldenison » Fri Jul 14, 2017 2:39 pm

Can anyone recommend a GOOD power supply for my ETH's? I'm using a couple of Chinese ones from eBay. I think they've started passing some random noise lately and I'd like to eliminate them as the cause. I don't have any others to try.

Thanks,
Mort

Never mind. I have a fan on each of my 2 ETH's. The wall wart powering one of them died causing that ETH to overheat. All good now.

Rather than start a new thread, I'm going to resurrect the one Mort started because it pertains to power on the Ceton InfiniTv 6 Eth. I got mine out of a box that didn't have the power cable. To my near-sighted eyes, it looks like it says 12 V 15A. If there's anybody with better sight or documentation that can confirm or correct it would be appreciated.

Bump, anyone?

ETA: Nevermind, I found a photo on Google Images for an old eBay auction that I could blow up. Turns out it's 12V 1.5A.

Hi - I just saw your post. I replaced mine with with a 3A unit from eBay. There's tons of them listed. Here's one that would work. The supplied adapter is handy unless you know the ETH plug measurement. The center pin is small.

I REALLY hate to resurrect his necro, but the topic is correct. Does anyone know the correct dimensions of the ETH DC connector?

update: it appears to be 5.5mm/2.5mm, so just hoping for a confirmation.

final update: exactly matches another adapter I had spec'd as 2 x 5.5 x 9 mm

RIP
