Norton Smart Firewall Blocking Port Forwarding

#1

Post by bobr31 » Wed Sep 23, 2015 5:53 pm

For some strange reason, I cannot get MMC working remotely as it is being blocked by Norton "Smart" Firewall. Everything works great over my local WiFi. It was working up until a month ago (when I last used it remotely) but I think Norton must have done an update which now blocks it. Port forwarding works fine when the Norton "Smart" firewall is disabled. I have set Program Control rules to allow CDataSvc.exe and cdataconfig.exe and have set up Traffic Rules to allow communication on port 5832, but with no success.

Anyone have any suggestions? Thanks.

I just solved the problem with a little more research. I had to change the Trust Level of my network to Full Trust from Public. All is well. :D
