Buying the app

Is there a free trial version? I would hate to buy it and find out that it doesn't fit my needs.
Also I have an Ipad and an android phone.
Would I need to purchase twice for each OS?

There is no trial version to my knowledge. There is plenty of documentation available to make an educated decision on whether the app fits your needs. I think it's a must-have for all WMC users.

You need to make separate purchase for each platform.

I'll echo Scallica's comments, and add that it won't allow you to watch video on your phone/tablet/Win8-metro. The only app that allows watching video, to my knowledge, is Remote Potato. However, it only works for non-copy-protected video, and is no longer in development.

Just my $0.02.
