No problem - anytime after Christmas Day would be fine.

One of our support staff is seeing this issue at his home so I'll be able to debug there. I appreciate the offer though (and may still ask if I don't see anything obvious)

Has this issue been fixed? Using the stable channel, I have been experiencing the issue on my Xbox 360. Strangely, it does not occur on my older white 4GB 360 (connected via CAT5), but does happen on my 250GB black wifi 360.
EDIT: Updated to beta drivers. Still having issues.

Another update: I hadn't touched the 360 in a couple days. When I turned it back on today, I am still getting the screen saver issue with the Beta (12/26) drivers, but as before, only when I access live/recorded through the Companion App's Television tab, not the remote tab. Is there any status update on this from Ceton? Thanks!

I'm testing a fix but it won't be available for at least a few days. Please PM me if you have this regularly and we can give an alpha update.

Same here. I am using the Beta Channel desktop version, which I just updated today. (version .870 IIRC) Also, if it is any help, it has happened to me for quite a while now. Through multiple Desktop versions. (I was originally on the stable channel, but it's been a few months) Also, just a heads up for those having issues with it, try changing to the same channel twice, that seems to keep it from activating the screen saver with me. also, I forgot to mention that I am also x64 as well.

Came back out to chime in on this to let you know I am still experiencing the issue even after the latest stable push a few days ago. Looks like others are still getting it as well. Was the latest update as of 1/21/2013 supposed to have the fix or is it coming in another update?
Thanks,
Greg

So we are testing out this right now.
My test for xbox is:
1.) Start xbox in extender mode.
2.) Wait 10 mins and it should dim
3.) Go to MMC app, go to guide and tune channel
4.) Wait 20 mins and nothing should happen
5.) Go to MMC app, start Recorded TV episode
6.) Wait 20 mins and nothing should happen
7.) Go to MMC app, start movie
8.) wait 20 mins and nothing should happen
So far success on all tests.

I have the latest services and app version on iOS. When I tune a channel, the screen saver kicks in a few minutes later (on my 360 extender). Was this supposed to be addressed?

It helped on Echo and Linksys but not Xbox so we are working on a different approach that will be included with a few larger feature improvements soon.

Thanks. WMC definitely seems finicky, ie when I play recorded shows off the remote and stop, it goes to a menu that allows me to delete/resume, but when playing off the television tab, it just goes back to whatever menu I was on before and doesn't pop up the menu for my recording I just stopped.mikinho wrote:It helped on Echo and Linksys but not Xbox so we are working on a different approach that will be included with a few larger feature improvements soon.

That sadly is a shortcoming in the Media Center SDK and not much we can do about it without dll injection. I've done that for my personal add-ins but for a commercial software doesn't quite fly.

It's too bad you're stuck with that lousy platform (people complained about the max volume on 360 extenders for years, and MS didn't do a thing about it). If only it was less costly to get software CableLabs certified!mikinho wrote:That sadly is a shortcoming in the Media Center SDK and not much we can do about it without dll injection. This same issue is happening to me with My Media Center on Windows RT. Since I was directed to this forum after opening a support ticket, I assume you want my system details.
Ceton adapter host PC: Win7 64 SP1
My Media Center version on Desktop PC: 13.1.12.870
My Media Center version on Surface RT: 1.3.2.2
Steps to repro:
1) Turn on XBox, open Windows Media Center
2) Turn on Microsoft Surface, open My Media Center
3) Open My Media Center channel guide
4) Tune any channel from list on XBox Media Center Extender
5) Wait 10 minutes
This only happens when I control the MCE with My Media Center. It actually works just fine if I use the XBox controller instead of my Surface.

I have the same screensaver problem without using any extenders. My fresh build of Win 7 x64 is connected directly to my display and continually enters screensaver mode every few minutes when a channel is selected from the Ceton app. When using the native remote control this never happens.
