2 hauppauge Nova-DT Dual DVB-t - keep loosing one

Hi all

I have a Windows 7 media centre that I have had for years. It has been rebuilt and reboxed umteen times.

I have two hauppauge Nova-DT (500) Dual DVB-t installed.

Recently my MediaCenter has been dropping one of my tuners.

Windows device manager shows both cards but the media centre complains that there are not enough tuners to record the scheduled recordings.

The only way I have found to fix this is to re-setup the TV Signal.

Has anyone experienced this? Is there a better fix for this?

Thanks so much

ZP

In my first WMC setup (on Vista), I tried to use three Hauppauge DT500 PCI cards. The problem was they they would not work properly. This was eight years ago, so the details are hazy, and I cannot remember exactly how the errors manifested themselves, but I think that one or two of the cards went AWOL on wake from sleep.

After much gnashing of teeth, I eventually found a post from a Hauppauge support person on a Hauppauge forum that stated that two or more DT500 cards in a system was an unsupported configuration. And that is what I found -- one DT500 PCI card worked fine, but two or three did not. The accepted wisdom at the time was that the malfunction was caused by a timing problem during wake from sleep.

You could try looking for an updated driver from Hauppauge. They may have fixed the problem, but in the end I removed the DT500 cards and replaced them with Pinnacle 2000i cards, which worked without problem.
