Thoughts on new setup?
Hey everyone! My current machine is eight years old with windows 8.1 and it's time to retire it. I am planning on creating a new media center machine (dell poweredge t20) with Windows 7 SP1. I have heard there are possibly issues with the latest windows updates for 7 and wmc? Any thoughts on skipping updates and just having the golden release of 7 SP1? Being in the IT industry it sounds like a super bad idea but this machine will be a headless unit and will just be used for wmc and 360 extenders. I do have the option of doing 8.1 again but it just seems like I had more issues with 8.1 Media Center.....but that could've been the age of the machine as well. Any responses would be greatly appreciated.

There are no issues with WMC and Windows 7. The issues happen to those running a forked version of WMC on Windows 10. The Windows 10 bi-annual feature updates break WMC.wmcuser1233 wrote: ↑Sat Aug 29, 2020 2:56 pm I have heard there are possibly issues with the latest windows updates for 7 and WMC? I read that with the latest 7 security updates (however long ago that was since its eol now) has caused some issues but maybe not.Scallica wrote: ↑Sat Aug 29, 2020 3:00 pmThere are no issues with WMC and Windows 7.
