If I switch TV providers can I still watch old protected content?

I am considering a switch of TV providers from cable to Verizon FiOS and would like to retain the ability to play back old protected content even if I swap out these components.

Dos the hardware signature that WMC uses to authorize recording playback include any tie-in to the cable card and/or the Ceton adapter (I may switch to a HomeRun prime with Verizon cable card during the switch)?

Thanks all.

AFAIK, the tuner hardware is not part of the signature so you should be OK. Definitely the cable card is not part of the signature.

I have swapped cable providers in the past and it did not affect being able to play the old DRM recordings. I don't believe you should have to mess with Playready at all after the cable swap, so don't reset it or anything like that which COULD cause you to not be able to play back old recordings.
